This is one dish that every Filipino won’t refuse to eat. We call it Lechong Kawali. It is actually pan roasted pork belly. Meat is soft and the fat and skin are crispy. Best eaten if dipped into soy sauce with calamansi. Others prefer the Mang Tomas sauce.
I’ve been craving for this dish for the longest time. Good thing the stall in a food court near my house sells Filipino dishes and they have this. I ordered this with one and a half cups of rice. That time, I didn’t really care if I look like I’m ordering/eating for two. I was just hungry and I wanted to satisfy my craving. I went home very full and happy. I knew I just ate slices of cholesterol but I didn’t care. I don’t get to eat that everyday.
